Es ist geschafft! Wir sind Comenius-Schule und nehmen damit am EU- Austauschprogramm für Schulen teil. Dass dies keine Selbstverständlichkeit ist, sieht man an dem anspruchsvollen Bewerbungsverfahren, das wir im Schuljahr 2012/2013 offenbar sehr überzeugend durchlaufen haben. In diesem Homepage-Bereich informieren wir Sie über das Projekt, das uns in den nächsten Jahren stark beschäftigen wird.
Dormagen-Nakkila: Das ist eine Premiere! Wir haben die finnische Schule durch unser letztes Comeniusprojekt "Water for Life" kennengelernt. Und die Zusammenarbeit mit dieser Schule und den im Comeniusprojekt engagierten Lehrkräften war so gut, dass der finnische Kollege, Herr Juha Kopio, uns vorschlug, in diesem Schuljahr einen Schüleraustausch durchzuführen. Ein guter Vorschlag, der sofort Resonanz fand.

First, we want to say that we enjoyed the trip very much and that we are very happy that we got to meet such great people. Here is how we spent the time in the eternal city…
Monday:
We left Cologne Bonn airport in the morning to fly to Rome. We had a great flight but we were very tired from all the excitement. Then we took the bus – for which we had waited more than an hour - to the place were we met our host families. This first evening we spent with them.
Tuesday:
The first morning, we met at the Galileo Galilei Industrial Technical High School (http://lnx.itisgalileiroma.it/itis/), one partner of the Comenius project and hosting school in Rome at 8 o'clock. All nations went into one room and we were welcomed by the head teacher. After this we had to go into two groups and walked with a couple of Roman students throught the school. The school is very big. They have four houses. In the main house, where all the workshops are located, they have many impressive things like two airplanes, an air tunnel and they produce their own energy with solar panels.
We listened to all the presentations about the topic water and energy and presented the one from our school. After that we went outside to see a little bit of Rome like the Colusseum, Constantine's arch and the Forum Romanum. When we had finished the sight seeing, we had a little time to go shopping in small groups on the Via del Corso. At 7 pm we met our host brothers and sisters and went home with the subway.
Wednesday:
Everyone travelled with his or her host brother or sister to school at 8 am. We watched the films we prepared called „What happens if water disappears“. Then we went into different groups (one student of each country) and played a game similar to the German game Tabu using words connected to our topic Water for Life. After that we had to write a list of ideas of how to save water in the daily life.
In the afternoon, we went to the city centre of Rome again, visiting famous sights like the Trevi Fountain, the Triton Fountain and The Fountain of the Bees, Piazza di Spagna, Piazza Navona, The Pantheon, the Spanish steps and St. Pete's Square.
Thursday:
At eight o'clock we met at school. At school we were picked up by a bus with the people of the other countries and drove to Tivoli to visit Villa Adriana and Villa d' Este. Tivoli is a small city to the east of Rom (ca.30 km). Today, Villa Adriana is a ruin. But it is not only a house. Villa Adriana was built on an area of 120 hectars. There is also a teatre and a big and a small bath each with a sauna. Villa d' Este is famous for the big garden with more than 50 fountains. One of the fountains plays music every two hours. The music is produced by air and water and is played on a organ. And if you stand on the balcony and the weather is nice you can see the St. Peter's Basilica.
At 6 pm we arrived at school for the farewell dinner and for the certificate ceremony. First every nation was called individually by the headmaster of the school. Each got a certificate and a small lamp. After this, the dinner started. There were small schnitzels, sandwiches and pasta. As a dessert there was a delicious cake. At 8:30 pm we went back to the host families.
Friday:
Like everyday we drove to school at eight o'clock to meet the other students. This time to say goodbye to each country. It was not easy to say goodbye and there were even some tears. After saying goodbye to everyone, we brought our suitcases to the hotel of Ms Barth and Mr Säle because our flight back was at 3:40 pm. So we had some free time. We visted St Peters Square again planning to go into St. Peter's Basilica. The queue, however, was too long, so we went to eat gelato and pizza instead. At four o'clock we left the sunny and warm Rome to go back to the cold Cologne.

Das 5. mobility meeting unseres Comenius-Projektes "water for life" führte uns im November nach Rudniki, in Polen. Ein sehr kleiner Ort, etwa 120 km nördlich von Kattowitz. Dorthin fuhren (v.r.n.l.) Aylina und Lukas (Jg. 11), Katharina (Jg. 12) sowie Gianni (Jg. 10), dem wir auch den tollen Videobeitrag verdanken, der hier unter "Weiterlesen" zu sehen ist. Begleitet wurden die Schülerinnen und Schüler von Herrn Möller und Frau Heiermann.
Wir trafen dort auf unsere Partner, die aus Finnland,...
...Rumänien (mit dem Bus!), Spanien, Italien und Frankreich angereist waren, bearbeiteten alle gemeinsam das Projektthema "water and wealth", zu dem Schülerinnen und Schüler des 10er Englisch-Bilikurses von Frau Barth eine Präsentation vorbereitet hatten, wir hatten Fotos zum Thema "water and disasters" aus dem Informatikkurs des Jahrgangs 10 von Frau Böhning dabei und verbrachten insgesamt eine erlebnisreiche, wunderschöne Woche in dem sehr gastfreundlichen Polen.

Unser Comeniusprojekt "Water for Life" geht in die vierte Runde:
Schülerinnen und Schüler sowie Lehrerinnen und Lehrer der sieben Partnerschulen aus Dormagen, Italien, Spanien, Polen, Rumänien, Frankreich und Finnland treffen sich zur Zeit in Nakkila, Finnland.
Die Abordnung unserer Schule, Herr Ridder, Fiona und Ronja (9c), Magnus und Elias (8f) und Herr Bosch, ist oben vor ihrem Abflug in Düsseldorf zu sehen. Sie flogen zusammen mit Herrn Becker nach Helsinki. Von dort ging es mit dem Bus nach Nakkila. In Finnland werden jetzt vor allem zwei Projekte durchgeführt: Eine Wassergüteklassenuntersuchung und die Auswertung eines Fragebogens zum Wasserverbrauch, den ja einige Klassen unserer Schule beantwortet haben.
Hier sehen wir Teilnehmer bei der Wassergüteuntersuchung. Das Projekt wird von unserer Schule geleitet und hat einen biologischen und eine chemischen Teil.
Mit Lupen werden hier wohl gerade die Kleinstlebewesen gesucht, die anzeigen, welche Wassergüte das Gewässer besitzt. Im unteren Bild wird die Wasserqualität mit Hilfe von Indikatortabellen bestimmt. Die Ergebnisse und Erkennisse aus beiden Methoden werden am Donnerstag gemeinsam mit allen besprochen. Auf Englisch natürlich.
